The ARP Wave

The Device:

The electrical stimulation device (the ARP) possesses specification characteristics that are not found in any conventional therapeutic neuromuscular electrical stimulator (interferential, microcurrent, galvanic, Russian stim, iontophoresis).

The ARP uses direct current (DC) compounded with a high frequency double exponential, patented background waveform. This background wave is harmonious with the body and significantly reduces skin and fatty tissue impedance allowing much deeper penetration of the direct current without the side effects of skin burning.

Also, the unique waveform produces minimal inhibitory protective muscle contractions allowing active range of motion during therapy and training. This permits eccentric (lengthening) contractions to occur which are critical to treatment.

The machine is the invention of Denis Thompson, an exercise physiologist based in Burnsville, Minn. Thompson wasn’t happy with the way traditional methods used to train athletes and treat their injuries because they ignored the body’s nervous system. The symptoms of injury were being treated, he said, but not the actual injury.

The ARP machine is designed to stimulate the nervous system, which in turn helps the body heal. The machine resembles electrical stimulation therapy, with wires extending from the machine to pads that are placed on the patient.

ARP treats the cause of the injury, not just the symptoms. The pads are placed on the spot where it hurts, and if that’s where the problem is, it will elicit a degree of discomfort. They are then moved until an electrical disturbance is found, which is the origin of the problem. If the pain is on the inside of the ankle, that may be where you feel the pain because that’s where it ended up, not where it originated.

Fatigue, injury and traditional weight-training methods cause muscles to contract, decreasing their ability to absorb force. The ARP relaxes the muscle and can improve the ability to absorb force and reduce injury.

Technical Specifications:

Wave Form – Compound, double exponential asymmetric with high levels of direct current.

Power – High power with NO surface burning or surface pain at 0 to 2.5 watts.

Main Pulse – 40 to 500 pulses per second.

Background Frequency – High-frequency carrier signal at 10,000 cycles per second.

Polarity – Direction of electron flow is reversible.

Depth of Penetration – Deepest soft tissue penetration resonates with the human system, causing the body’s natural resistance to drop out.

The ARP wave Protocols:

The ARP wave protocols created by Denis Thompson and Jay Schroeder are the crucial software that differentiates the ARP from ALL other electrical stimulation devices. The protocols are the accumulation of over 60 years of research and application.

The protocols can NOT be used with any other electrical stimulation device since no other device will allow the muscles to relax to the extent needed. Without the protocols and programs, the ARP is like any other galvanic electric all stimulation device. With the protocols and programs the ARP becomes a one-of-a-kind tool to dramatically change the present way of dealing with soft tissue injury and postsurgical rehabilitation.

-Federal law restricts the sale of the ARP by or on the order of a physician, dentist, or practitioner licensed under the state law to use or order the use of the ARP. A prescription for the ARP can be obtained from our community of medical practitioners. The ARP is FDA authorized for the following uses: · Muscle Reeducation: Eliminating compensation patterns · Relaxation of muscle spasms: Reducing pain in the affected muscles · Increased local blood circulation: Shown to speed up healing · Prevention and retardation of disuse atrophy: Quickly builds muscle strength · Maintaining and increasing range of motion: Designed to increase your muscles ability to absorb force and prevent muscle related injury.-
